1/14/25-Tuesday-Day 39 “One more day!”

This morning for the first time probably since we were in Montana back in September I woke up truly ready to move on to the next place. It’s been 5 days now and we’ve all enjoyed our stillness here at El Atrancón but there are some beautiful sites on the horizon and we are all ready to check them out. For today however we’ll enjoy just a bit more of the serenity that this camp has to offer.

When afternoon rolls around the four of us walk north to Agua Buena. We stop for one last meal at La Villa and then walk a bit further into the town square to see what miscellaneous groceries we can find at the local tiendas. Our first stop in town is an OXXO convenient store which doesn’t have much in the way of groceries but they do have Salsa Verde Tostitos and Tecate so we won’t starve! Heather also grabs a couple bags of food for the street dogs that have been hanging around our camp.

Across the square we find another small tienda and they actually have a decent selection of items considering how cramped the space is. We grab a dozen eggs, some produce, chips and tortillas and then make our way back to camp for the evening.
