Last night was exactly what we had hoped for. We both slept quite well here in this peaceful forest. I feel safe here and it’s very quiet. So quiet that I can hear a slight ringing in my ears at times while lying in bed. I won’t complain though. When the question is posed about staying put for the day Michele very much echoes our sentiment when she answers “you would have to drag my ass off of this mountain today!” It’s an easy decision given our surroundings and the fact that it’s not costing us anything to stay here. We really didn’t do too much today, which has been nice. We felt like we were constantly going in 2024 between jobs and traversing the country multiple times. There was always somewhere we needed to be so we are very much looking forward to the slower pace of travel these next 3ish months here in Mexico.

We aren’t sure what this year is going to look like. January is usually when I find our seasonal summer/fall job but we’ve decided to hold off until we get back to the states. We have several things we need to take care of in Ohio so there’s a chance we might wait and find work for the summer there. We’ve talked about working the sugar beet harvest again in North Dakota but that wouldn’t be until October possibly August if we decide to work the pre-pile. We shall see, but for today we focused on our time here in Mexico and all the adventures ahead.

The doggos enjoyed their time playing outside with Ellie. It’s nice being at a spot where they can all run free and play. The weather has been really nice today but there’s a cold front coming in soon that will bring wind and possibly snow, so we’ll be back on the road tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed for another peaceful night.
