12/12/24-Thursday-Day 6 “Truck Maintenance”

12/12/24-Thursday-Day 6 “Truck Maintenance”

With all three of our rigs needing a little bit of work in some fashion or another we made the decision to stay put for the day. It doesn’t hurt at all that Paraiso Missional really is a bit of a travelers paradise. It is a beautiful property just a short walk from the town square. They have clean hot showers and possibly most important when crawling around under a truck all day, grass!

After our morning routine of coffee and breakfast we each started on our projects, Josh repairing the rivets holding his awning on, Mark re-sealing a leaking differential cover, and myself installing a new backup camera on Wanda. Unsurprisingly a couple of our projects took much longer than anticipated with Mark and I working well into the afternoon. Fortunately we are not on a timeline of any sort.

The pups got to try out their new backpack!
Annie settled into it surprisingly well!

Upon completing our work for the day we cleaned up and the seven of us, plus the dogs!, made the walk to town for dinner at Rancho Grande. One of only a couple restaurants in the town square they have a beautiful patio with a view of the Spanish mission which the square is centered on. Everyone ordered the papas fritas (French fries), something we had all been talking about and craving since the evening before, Heather ordered chicken enchiladas and I had a seafood chile relleno that was stuffed with fish, shrimp, and octopus. It was delicious! After walking the square we returned to camp and retired to our individual homes for the night.
